This week, Hybrid Air Vehicles are in Japan for Expo 2025 Osaka—one of the largest international events of the decade, with 160 countries participating and over 28 million visitors expected. The UK Pavilion, themed Come Build the Future, offers a global platform for UK innovation. The Expo, which is open for six months, will see Airlander showcased during the UK Future of Flight event.

Taking place during the Future of Transport week, the Future of Flight event is where the focus is on aviation’s next chapter. Our goal: to show how Airlander can help deliver zero-emissions flight, reshape short haul connectivity, and support a more sustainable future for air travel. As governments, businesses, and communities around the world look to cut carbon emissions and create resilient transport links, we’re here to demonstrate how Airlander offers a practical, near-term solution.

A week of activity for Future of Flight

Our Executive Director of Sales, George Land, is on the ground throughout the week, sharing how Airlander is helping reimagine how we move people and goods, and exploring how this would complement the transport network in Japan. Following work we have done with island nations such as the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, the Japanese island network is a perfectly suited geography for Airlander - providing connections with limited infrastructure and space required, with ultra-low emissions (and eventually zero-emissions).

On Monday, George is in Tokyo at the British Embassy, presenting to Japanese industry leaders and officials. He will introduce Airlander, explaining its potential to serve short-haul routes more efficiently, and meet with companies and agencies working across aviation and transport. Following the presentation, one-to-one conversations with businesses will be key to building international understanding of how Airlander fits into future mobility networks.

On Wednesday, George joins the Future of Flight showcase at the UK Pavilion in Osaka. He’s speaking on a panel exploring the potential for advanced air mobility—alongside voices from the UK Department for Transport, SkyBridge, and Sora Aviation. Together, they’ll look at how new technologies can unlock cleaner, more flexible regional travel.

From reducing emissions on short haul routes to strengthening regional connectivity, Expo 2025 is an opportunity to show how Airlander can support the future of transport on a global stage.
