Cookies and other Tracking Technologies

HAV and its web services provider use cookies and other tracking technologies such as beacons, tags and scripts, to make interactions with the Company’s Web sites easy and meaningful. When you visit one of the Company's Web sites, HAV’s (or one of our third parties service provider’s) servers send a cookie to your computer. Cookies are pieces of information that a Web site transfers to your hard drive to store and sometimes track information about you. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but if you prefer, you can change your browser settings to prevent that and your help screen or manual will tell you how to do this. However, you may not be able to take full advantage of our Web sites, Software or Services if you do so. Standing alone, cookies do not personally identify you in the "real world"; they merely recognize your Web browser. Unless you choose to identify yourself to HAV, either by responding to a promotional offer or filling out a Web form (such as an Airlander Club joining request), the Company is unable to identify you by name or other "real-world" information from the data collected through cookies.

HAV uses cookies that are session-based and persistent-based. Session cookies exist only during one session. They disappear from your computer when you close your browser software or turn off your computer. We use session cookies to make it easier for you to navigate our Web site. Users can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level. Please note that if you disable your Web browser's ability to accept cookies, you may not be able to use all features of our web site. Persistent cookies remain on your computer after you close your browser or turn off your computer. We employ persistent cookies as explained below.

We use the following types of cookies on our Web sites:

  • Essential cookies. These are cookies that are required for the operation of our Web sites and under our terms with you. They include, for example, cookies that enable you to log into secure areas of our Web site.
  • Analytical/performance cookies. They allow us to recognize and count the number of Visitors and to see how Visitors move around our Web sites when they are using it. This helps us for our legitimate purposes to improve the way our Web sites work, for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily.
  • Functionality cookies. These are used to recognize you when you return to our Web sites. This enables us, subject to your choices and preferences, to personalize our content for you, greet you by name and remember your preferences (for example, your region).
  • Targeting cookies. These cookies record your visit to our Web site, the pages you have visited and the links you have followed. We may use this information subject to your choices and preferences to make our Web site and the advertising displayed on other Web sites you visit more relevant to your interests. We may also share this information with third parties for this purpose.

Web Beacons

We may employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons), that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user's computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We do not tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our Visitors’ personal data.
