Meet our partners & collaborators

AECOM
AECOM is the world’s trusted infrastructure consulting firm, delivering professional services throughout the project lifecycle – from planning, design and engineering to programme and construction management.

We have partnered with AECOM to work together with our customers to develop the infrastructure to operate Airlander, including preparing for hydrogen on site for the hybrid-electric and all-electric Airlander 10 aircraft. AECOM will also work with HAV to develop the Airlander 10 manufacturing facility.

HAV and AECOM sign memorandum of understanding

AECOM has partnered with HAV to provide infrastructure services for its pioneering hybrid aircraft, Airlander. The partnership will draw on AECOM’s consulting and advisory services for cost and carbon benchmarking, sustainability development, master planning, construction programme management and scheme delivery. This work will include advice on hydrogen supply infrastructure and transit interchange design.

A partnership of Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV), Collins Aerospace, and the University of Nottingham (UoN) has won grant funding in excess of £1m from the UK Aerospace Research and Technology Programme to develop electric propulsion technologies using Airlander 10 as the initial platform. The project, named E-HAV1, will deliver a full-sized prototype 500kW electric propulsor for ground testing and technologies ready for future productionisation.

Enhancing Airlander 10's efficiency

HAV worked with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team Applied Science Division to enhance Airlander 10's aerodynamics at their wind tunnel at Silverstone. We have significantly reduced the aerodynamic drag when compared to the prototype, reducing fuel burn and therefore operating costs and environmental impact.

The AMRC is a world-class centre for research into advanced manufacturing technologies used in the aerospace, automotive, medical and other high-value manufacturing sectors. The AMRC has a global reputation for helping companies overcome manufacturing problems and is a model for collaborative research involving universities, academics and industry worldwide.

We have partnered with the AMRC to work together to identify projects developing research, innovation, and training linked to HAV’s Airlander 10 production.

The UK Vertical Lift Network (UKVLN) is a collaboration between UK academia and industry, providing leadership and promotion of the UK’s vertical lift sector. Consisting of universities, national aerospace institutions and industrial research bodies, the UKVLN draws on a range of experiences to achieve comprehensive responses to, and deliver a coherent vision for, future vertical lift challenges.

We are a member of the Vertical Lift Network, which means we join meetings and workshops throughout the year to work collaboratively on research and solutions for vertical lift challenges.
